TREK RUNCATRAIL

Want to try out one of the longest flow country trails in all of Europe? Rookies will take on simple rollers, while pros can showcase their skills on banks and jumps. With its North Shore, dirt and freeride elements, the Runca Trail guarantees fun for freestyle-oriented bikers and freeriders. To ensure the trail is also accessible in poor weather, the wooden elements are coated in a sand-coloured paint so they are not slippery when wet.

Runca Trail in detail

Naraus-Punt Desch

The Runca Trail begins at Naraus rail station at an altitude of 1,800 metres above sea level. A flat trail with its own corners and rollers takes you to the start of the flow country trail at Punt Desch.

Punt Desch-Startels

It gets started with a banked slalom, taking in Alpine meadows and skirting alongside the wild Flembach stream. There is a brief incline in the middle part, finally leading to a number of banks. Rapid sections allow fast-paced rides.

Startgels–Plaun gl’Urs (‘Super Mario Land’)

Things really get going over the first 200 metres. Up and down, left and right, through Super Mario Land. This is followed by a more relaxed section through Plaun gl’Urs. Time to relax a moment and enjoy the little Alpine plateau.

Val gl’Urs–Panoweg

An initial steep slope leads you into the forest. Banked turns accumulate, interspersed with undulations and jumps. The last climb takes you up to the Panoweg path, where you can enjoy the views and catch your breath, before composing yourself and preparing for the rhythm section.

Panoweg–Runca (‘Da Rhythm section’)

Find your rhythm in this section with drop-downs, rollers, tables, step-ups, corners and doubles. To work up a real sweat, this is followed by some more pumping as far as Restaurant Runca. The restaurant is equipped with tools and tubes and is the perfect pit stop for both rider and machine.

Uaul la Runca (‘Woodyland’)

After taking in the views, the rough terrain of the Flims landslide takes over the Runca Trail. The Runca Trail meanders through the open countryside on a North Shore trail (wooden trail) coated with sand-coloured paint and on a flow single trail. Now you’re just a few metres away from reaching the end of this unique trail.
